Ruminant and poultry feed and zootechnical additives
The use of plant tannins in animal husbandry is widely documented in the veterinary scientific literature. Tannins are substances of a polyphenolic nature present in varying content in almost all plant species, from which they are obtained by water extraction and subsequent vacuum concentration from the raw material, which depending on the case may be the wood, bark, fruits or leaves of different plants.
The chemical and organoleptic characteristics that make tannins interesting for animal husbandry are their ability to complex proteins, astringency, and antiparasitic and disinfectant functions. They can be used in cattle and ruminant feed in general, as well as in poultry farming, and also in pig farming
Feed for ruminants and poultry
Two types of livestock tannins produced by our represented Unitan are available:
MGM-S FOR RUMINANTS
MGM-S, Specific for Ruminants, is a vegetable tannin extracted from
Quebracho Colorado with the following properties:
– Decreased ruminal protein degradability (by-pass effect)
– Reduced risk of tympanism
– Action as a gastrointestinal entiparasite
– Reduced methane emissions
Available in both powder and microgranular form.
Packaging: 25 kg bags and 800 kg big bags.
MGM-AVES FOR BIRDS
MGM-AVES, specific for volative, is a vegetable tannin extracted from Quebracho Colorado with more specific characteristics for poultry farming:
– Reduced Salmonella risk in eggs and intestines
– Increased egg shell strength
– Drier dejections
Available in both powder and microgranular form.
Packaging: 25 kg bags and 800 kg big bags.
